Nobody can follow The Who. They are the best band in the world live.

I went to see the Quadrophenia show they did at the Garden about five years ago (with Gary Glitter as the Rocker and Billy Idol as The Mod).

I really wasn’t expecting much, as they are old enough to collect Social Security at this point.

But they absolutely kicked ass. After doing the entire Quadrophenia album, they came out and did an hour and half encore of their hits, all acoustic.

Great great show.

During their first "Farewell Tour" (1982) I went to see them at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. I talked a couple of reluctant friends into going, promising them that The Who would be good, but I wasn't really expecting anthing special. I had seen hundreds of concerts by scores of great bands. I didn't expect this to be much different.

I couldn't have been more wrong. They absolutely ROCKED. They put on a 3 hour show that was far and away better than any I had seen before. They blew us away. I had no idea a band could be that good live. I have yet to see anyone who can touch the old geezers.
