The RINOs in Washngton state undermined our representative who was running against Patty Murray for the Senate seat. Linda Smith was an ultra-conservative ex-Democrat (and a friend of mine) who didn't "click" with the slimy fish senior Senator, Slade Gorton (R???), so lost out on state party financial support during the campaign while the Dims and unions hit her with everything they had. One of their glossy mailer brochures showed a series of pictures of her morphing into Newt Gingrich. There are too many lawyers in state party leadership.

Linda Smith was/is a smart cookie. Another case of the GOP not funding a candidate because they can't control them. She could have been Patticake Murray with a little umph!

I was impressed that her initial entry into the House of Representatives was on a write in campaign! Far as I'm concerned, she beats the pants off Jennifer Dunn.
