Duck Builds Nest at Kmart
Fri May 31, 8:12 AM ET
By The Associated Press
CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - A duck in need of a nesting spot improvised a little and made a home in the bedding plants at a Kmart garden center.
The mallard duck was first noticed by a customer a couple of weeks ago, said assistant store manager Linda Adams. Named Mama by store employees, the duck likely strolled up from the nearby Cedar River. "It's been kind of fun," Adams said. "It's just been a little novelty thing. The kids seem to enjoy her."
Kmart employees put up a "duck with egg" caution sign to give the duck privacy. She's ensconced in a six-pack of gold, long-stemmed flowers.
Adams said the flowers probably won't be sold once Mama and her ducklings move out.
"She's made her bed in them and that's about all we're going to be able to do with them, I think," she said.

And another thing--remember the earlier reports said the vDs never let anyone into the house, only the garage? Does this new version make you go "hmmmm"??

Hey, you got to listen to Michael Savage...he's on a roll.
He says that even if DW did it, she was a victim of her parents life-style...he's good.

Strange, if DW weren't on the DEFENSE, we honestly would be looking at someone who was at the home that evening to have murdered Danielle. BINGOROONEY!!!!!!!!!! No wonder they had to point at David Westerfield, the unsuspecting neighbor.
To: spectre
We don't get him here. In fact, I can't get much on the radio at all. Wouldn't get teevee if it weren't for the dish! Will he put a transcript on his site?

And on this--pointing a finger--we can be absolutely positive. Consider:
Officer: During the course of our investigation, the resident here, his name came up, as someone who had contact with the family. We've talked to him. He is cooperating with us. He's talked to us yesterday, he's talking to us today. We had some things we wanted to check in his house. He allowed us to go into his home and we are doing some things to process the scene and possibly eliminate him as a suspect." Source
Second, there was an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune the same day, where another officer says something quite similar:
"This is a process of elimination," said Dave Cohen, a spokesman for the San Diego Police Department. "We have gotten some information and we wanted to take a little closer look at his vehicle and his residence." Source
And from the motion filed in court last week:
"Detective Alldredge's affadavit was relied on to establish probable cause for search warrants 2783D and 27818 to search Mr. Westerfield's home. 27813 for Mr. Westerfields clothes. In his affadavit, Alldredge misrepresented statements by Brenda Van Dam that were relied on to supply probable cause for the issuance of the search warrants. Because the affadavits were sealed, documents may only disclose the specifics of the misrepresentations in camera."
So, from this, it appears Brenda said something, but that Alldredge might have altered it or exaggerated it. Bottom line, it looks like someone did point the police in a certain direction.

Don't know. I'm going to his website, savage nation.com.
He is really blaming the parents for creating the opportunity leading up to Danielle's death. He says they should never have been parents.
He's got a poll on his site. I'm over there, now.

Attention K-mart shopper's. we have a "blue light special" over on Isle 5: nightlight bulbs, dogbeds, beer and pizza... Oh! That reminds me, did any of you catch the Westerfield/ VanDam trial today?
The little snippet I saw of Damon so far today showed a slouching, hostile guy.
IMO, one has to wonder what else he is holding back. Feldman sure didn't get it all or DVD would have lightened up. What and why, is the question?
As much as came out today - given that the Judge Mudd was going to limit it - you have to wonder what the heck else there could thee possibly be?
We are in for an interesting summer, to say the least.

Laughing at your K-Mart remark! But yes, this trial is already pure dynamite. And it's my understanding that Feldman has Damon on his witness list, so I assume they're going to recall him as a defense witness--hostile, no doubt?
To: spectre
"but I think Feldman is going to recall Damon at some point.
You can bet your sweet bippy he is. LOL
Feldman will have him back on the stand as a hostile witness; and as a hostile witness, he will not have as much wiggle room.

I was in and out of the room with the TV,but I tried to se the pics of the house. The Garage looked just like everyones garage, or did I miss something? If what I saw was correct, they had to have had their parites in the house.
Also is someone going to post the transcript of the bears testimony?I misses so much on court TV and taking the kids to awana

Whoops, I gave the wrong info about michael savage's web site...it's MichaelSavage.com. But someone on the forum (Bush2000) has links for real audio posted on his Michael Savage thread.
TJ, I am wondering if Damon cannot sit in on the trial if he is subject to a recall? That would be a smooth move to keep him out of the courtroom till the end.

I didn't get to see the videos, but I suspect the vds cleared out the garage of any, um, toys. Except in one newspaper photo I did see a huge speaker out there--odd place for a speaker, if they really used it for a garage, eh?
To: theirjustdue
"hostile witness"--goes real well with hostile freepers and other things that go bump in the night! Seems everyones nerves are about shot on this subject.
To: MizSterious
Yep.......the more you look at the order of events, the easier you can subscribe to the theory that Westerfield was set up or that by chance he had small pieces of hair, blood, and fiber through innocent circumstances.
To: spectre
All I get is an ad at www.savagenation.com ..is that a correct URL? could you link?

Well, the fiber evidence might be the weakest. As TheirJustDue mentioned before, they might have the same carpting in all the houses (but orange? Yikes); also consider the fact that the technicians did not change footwear, etc., when walking back and forth between the VD house and the Westerfield house and motorhome. Feldman mentioned that during the PH; I don't know if he brought it up today. And I believe Dusek said the fibers were 'similar'--he didn't say "exact match" and I think they can get pretty close on fibers, so why not on these?
To: spectre
still nothing..to post a link you do the following..
a href="(then the URL)".....put the command in the Html brackets..< > Would you try?
