If you go overseas you accept the risks. You can't expect to take our laws and mores with you. Either they knew the risks of being in the Phillipines and accepted them, in which case they have no room for complaint and no call upon our sympathy, or they went to the Phillipines without knowing the risks in which case it was evolution in action and they can be nominated for a Darwin Award.
