How does someone on military leave generally show up on head-count? My boss is saying I will show up as an allowed but unfilled head-count, making his organization look better during possible (probable) lay-offs.

It's possible...you are accounted for..not present..but filling a TDA Slot....

The fire alarm just went off...we are waiting till we get the word that it was a malfunction of the alarm and not the real thing...makes perfect sense doesn't it????

I always thought it was "accounted for."

Now as to "slots," if there is an authorized billet that has yet to be filled, then it was allowed but unfilled.

At least that was my understanding, but it's been awhile since I was in the military. On the civilian side, we simply call it "on leave" or "vacant."
