We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Sorry for the lateness of the thread this morning. For awhile, FR did not seem it wanted to allow posting of articles to "General Interest."
The New York Times is at it again, trying to take down the President a notch or two. They ran a story saying Egypt's President Mubarrak told the United States that Al Qa'eda "was in the advance stages of executing a significant operation against an American target," leaving the insinuation the President knew enough about 9/11 to prevent it.
China's President Zemin will try and meet with the leaders of both India and Pakistan at the upcoming Asian Summit in an attempt to defuse the crisis in the region.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Two cents will get you a bet with me that the field is simply referred to as Lincoln Field. Either that or Lincoln's Folly! LOL!!

Ok, guys, I'm on my way out. I'll try to get back later.

I was talking about my civilian boss. I should have made that clear. His organization shows up as being understaffed by one when I am doing the military thing. Which (he says) looks better during layoff season. I'm not sure I understand all of that. I'm much better with the budget nonsense than I am with the manning nonsense.

I had to replace one of Trill's tires today. Hole through the firewall, and she didn't have road hazard coverage on them since they came from the car dealership. When I had the tire replaced, I covered all 4 with road hazard insurance. $11 to replace a $100 tire, instead of me having to pay full price.

Thanks, HOB.....:-)
Well someone just showed the house. The lady and her husband that was with the RE Agent had two more house to go to, but she didn't seem all that enthused about it. I don't know if that means she really likes our house; I heard her say that she loves this neighborhood, she told me the house was absolutely beautiful and they loved the yard. She didn't take her husband with her to the next two house. I don't know what that means.
I guess what it means is that I will either get an offer or I won't. ;-)

His organization shows up as being understaffed by one when I am doing the military thing. Which (he says) looks better during layoff season. I suppose it would. It would demonstrate, on paper, the unit is being more efficient than would otherwise be demonstrated at full strength, thus reducing its targetability during lay-offs.
OTOH, I'm more familiar with public funding of stuff. In that environment, vacancies are bad. An organization with vacancies are most likely to have those slots lost during times of attrition or reorganizations. They are the first targets whenever some pol says they want to reduce the size of Government. (It occurs because the slots are budgeted, but aren't actually paid until someone fills them - what gets cut is the budget, not the payroll. Real slick.)

Your boys are such a wonderful blessing - to all of us. The stories you tell about their activities, and especially about Ryan's funeral, are precious and will live not only in their memories but ours also.
What spectacular mothers .... oops, almost forgot the fathers ... post on ATRW!

Prayers for all of you and yours.
Northern Yankee, 50 years ago I had a cousin born with Downs Syndrome. When the doctors, and their parish priest, advised my aunt and uncle to institutionalize the baby, my aunt told them that she had four "normal" children at home and they needed to see how the world worked. Thank you very much, she was taking her baby home. She did, she was right and her "normal" children were the better for it. Sometimes the heart knows best.

OK, you are such a nice lady, even though you are a yankee and with your screen name, we are going to make you a southerner anyhow. Thanks for letting me know, in the south, ladies have the first, middle names that are put together and are know by that, for instance, my wife had a two part name, Treva Nell, and it was automatically pronounced TrevaNell.

I left out something, no I am not from Fla but Mississippi, all my life I have lived here except for three years in the AF, ALASKA, Oh what a mistake the federal government made by sending a MS boy to ALASKA. I LOVED it.
To: Northern Yankee
I kind of look at this this way. When you are trying to identify a Ku Klux Klan member, you don't look for blacks.
To: jtill
Thank you, jtill....they are a blessing. I am glad you enjoy them as much as we do. :-)

I just have to tell you. I read your post at work earlier and started to tear up. Your boys are just wonderful.
To: Northern Yankee
Indeed, you have endured much heartache in this life, NY, losing both your twin brother and older sister at such a young age. What a comfort our faith and church can bring to us during such times, especially when we are brought up in the ways of the Lord from childhood, as it sounds to me like you were. It also sounds as if your parents were wonderully supportive and remarkable. What an inspiring family you have, all the way around. Prayers lifted for you and your family in your loss of your Aunt Darlene and as you travel to Milwaukee for the services. God bless you.

I finished reading yesterday's thread and saw your posts about the recipes. I would certainly love to collect whatever ones are still available from back then. I was still learning how to navigate FR back then and didn't even think to print them out. I can't even remember how I finally found you all. I think someone over at Townhall.com mentioned Free Republic and I went looking!

(((kassie))), prayers for your dad, mom and you, sweetie. I'm with HOB, the incompetence of those nurses really makes me angry. I can only imagine how upset you and your mom must be over it. Disgraceful! But we know that the Lord can and will make this right, now that it's finally been discovered. Please keep us posted as to his condition.
(((Mozie))), dear, keep on keeping on. I was sorry to hear about Duke and offer my condolences to you on his passing. He sounds as if he was such a fine man and his friends and family were greatly enriched by his presence in their lives. May this thing with your mom turn out to be much less serious than supposed and may you and your mom sense the peace and comfort and healing of the Lord's loving arms embracing you both as prayers are lifted on your behalf.
