Sorry for the lateness of the thread this morning. For awhile, FR did not seem it wanted to allow posting of articles to "General Interest."

The New York Times is at it again, trying to take down the President a notch or two. They ran a story saying Egypt's President Mubarrak told the United States that Al Qa'eda "was in the advance stages of executing a significant operation against an American target," leaving the insinuation the President knew enough about 9/11 to prevent it.

China's President Zemin will try and meet with the leaders of both India and Pakistan at the upcoming Asian Summit in an attempt to defuse the crisis in the region.

G'morning toots!!! Trying to get settled here....I made the coffee here this morning and forgot to turn the pot on...hope that is not an omen of things to come....have a few busy things to do today...

When I got home Sunday, I found the sink in the bathroom clogged and the toilet as well....also, my brother called to tell me he thinks the heating element in the dryer (he was in doing laundry on saturday) has blown out.....so far I fixed the clogged sink, I THINK I fixed the toilet, but not 100% sure ...and am waiting for him to bring the part for the dryer...tonite I'll be visiting the local laundromat to dry my clothes...YUCK>

We have got to get away from all this infighting and start working to rid this nation of the threats we face. IN THE COURTS, Skakel to skate? His Kennedy ties, family, is NOT going to let anything happend to him and if it does, it will be a slap on the hand. Don't we ALL think that they have gotten away with so much 'law breaking'? But, money and politics are so powerful, I say he skates. We are in a non perfect world and we need prayer more than ever, I have always said that if a problem is too small to be turned into prayer, it is too small to be made into a burden. Our world problem is not too small for sure and I do hope you will put it on your prayer list. Well, off to the store for some bread a couple of more items and I will be checking in later and of course prayers for all to have a safe day and free from illness. Just a reminder. It generally gets lost in the shuffle with D-Day remembrances, but sixty years ago today, a vastly outnumbered American fleet of 3 carriers, with cruiser and destroyer escorts, sank 4 Japanese carriers and forever altered the course of the war in the Pacific near a small island known as Midway. Good morning! My daughter gets home tomorrow, not Thursday!! Good thing I re-checked her schedule! LOL!

Lots of fussing about the environmental report, all of whiich is silly. There is no policy change, and the statistics on the NOAA site indicate warming is occurring, although we do not know why. I have been spending a lot of time trying to read a variety of scientific sites to try and see which places have correct data and which have skewed data for an agenda. I am sorry to say that this is very difficult, because BOTH sides of this controversy are picking and choosing data to suit their agendas.

Frankly, I am not even sure about the NOAA site, because they use tree-ring data as a factor, and other sources discount the use of tree rings. Yikes!

Anyway, I am determined to make an intelligent decision about this controversy rather than being stampeded one way or the other.

There is a great danger in taking a scientific position based on politics...if you are proven to be wrong scientifically, then your politics goes down the tube as well.
