No pads. How many american football players can run for 90 minutes?
To: wallcrawlr
If your sport somehow lets France win something, that's just embarrassing. First game: Senegal 1 - France nil.

The 'original' football championship. Soccer got to use the word 'football' first, and they don't use their hands.

I don't ever remember running for 90 minutes straight when I played soccer.
Personally I think the list is funny as hell.

I love these articles that assume that Soccer Vs Football is a must. As opposed to people who can actually enjoy both sports for what they are.
I liken the comparison to food-nazi's who only want you to eat a certain thing because it's "good for you because I know better".

Two words...
Soccer Sucks!

Just six weeks until training camp opens, friend. Hang in there!

How many american football players can run for 90 minutes? How many soccer players can? The "futbol" games I've watched on the Spanish television channels involved two teams of 11 players apiece, and at any given time each team had two players running and nine walking around.

While I Love American Football and Agree that Soccer is very boring to watch, There is not a more fun sport to play than soccer. There is no feeling in the world like scoring a goal in a big game. Still a funny list though.

Is Bridget Bardot still screaming about the South Koreans eating dog meat?

Watching games on Spanish TV is the first part of that problem....
Other national styles are more aggressive.

I love these articles that assume that Soccer Vs Football is a must. Me too. I was (and am) an avowed football fan, and I had always made fun of soccer. But then I had the chance to be an assistant soccer coach for several seasons, and I learned to really appreciate the game. I can enjoy watching soccer now because I fully understand the game, and can see the strategies and tactics that I couldn't before. Both sports take an impressive amount of skill, although the skillset is very different for each.
Having said that, the list is pretty dang funny. Any sport that does allow France even the CHANCE of winning might be suspect...

Well, my friend, the French were taught a lesson today by lowly Senegal (A former French colony).
I'm a former Defensive End in Football, and a former Goalkeeper in Soccer. It only serves athletes better to be proficient in more than one sport in my opinion, it is a good lesson for life in general.

No sport more fun to play than soccer? Come on, your kidding right? I have played organized sports for virtually every sport offered in the US. Baseball, football, basketball, soccer, swimming, golf, lacrosse, wrestling, bowling, etc... And by far, without question, Soccer was the most boring of them all.
To: SocialistSuk
And the fact that i sucked bigtime at soccer is not the reason that i found it boring. I suck at plenty of sports, but find them enjoyable to play no matter how bad I am at them. But not soccer.

Like who, France? The Brazilian team that won the World Cup in a shootout a few years ago?
Soccer is an unbelievably dull spectator sport at its highest levels. When a 2-1 game is a high-scoring affair, you know you've got a problem. Especially when a goalkeeper who makes six saves is having a "busy" game.

How many american football players can run for 90 minutes? I don't know...just all of our defensive backs, tailbacks, receivers, and probably 1/2 to 2/3 of our linebackers and fullbacks.
To: Phantom Lord
Well I would think that soccer sucks to if I sucked at it, but I've played forever. I've played many sports also and to each his own. Let me guess...they always made you play as goalie...:)

No pads. How many american football players can run for 90 minutes? So what you are saying is you really must sport a woodie for marathon runners?
