Look, I don't think the Levys taught their daughter to chase married men- at the same time, I believe Mom knew and did nothing to discourage. My opinion is not based on any hard facts, just 1 stupid thing:

Her last name was Levy.
Her first name was Chaaaaaandraaa.

If your surname is Levy and you name your kid Chandra, to paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy, you might be a 60's amoralist.

You know the parents were 60's hippy freaks who were just too damn WEAK! to tell her that her relationship with Condidit was WRONG! BECAUSE THEN THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO FACE THAT THERE IS A WRONG AND A RIGHT! And then they would have had to admit to themselves that everything they ever believed was a lie. People will do the most irresponsible things for the sake of maintaining the facades they need........

PS: I'm lapsed, so I ain't no expert on what makes a soul rest in peace. I just hope Chandra's is right now.

That came out a little harsher than I meant. There's a lot of sympathy for the Levy's in me, but also a sober skepticism that they are able to change and take a lesson from this horror that I'd never wish upon any parent.
