Two delicate flowers of Southern womanhood, one from Alabama, the other from Tennessee, were conversing on the porch swing of a large white pillared mansion.

The Alabama Honey said, "When my first child was born, my husband built this beautiful mansion for me."
The lady from Tennessee commented. "Well, isn't that nice??"

The first woman continued, "When my second child was born, my husband bought me that fine Cadillac you see parked in the drive. "
Again, the belle from Tennessee commented, "Well, isn't that nice??"

The first woman boasted, "Then, when my third child was born, my husband bought me this exquisite diamond bracelet.
Yet again, the second of the ladies commented, Well, isn't that nice??"

The first woman then asked her companion, "What did your husband buy for you when you had your first child?"
"My husband sent me to charm school," declared the Tennessee belle.

"Charm school, the first woman cried, "Land sakes, child, what on Earth for?

The Tennesseean responded, "So that instead of saying "Who gives a sh!t?"
I learned to say, "Well, isn't that nice?"

"WTF is he thinking???? "

I don't believe thinking ever enters his tiny little mind.

"A person must be pretty shallow if he can't figure out how to enjoy life if money is absolutely no problem."

I lived in Palm Springs for a couple of years a long time ago and worked in a business whose clientele were primarily the very rich and sometimes famous. I saw a lot of men who acted like they were above everybody else, women who looked as if their panties were on backwards, homosexuals, and some who looked like they were living on another planet. I saw a lot of angry, sad, stressed, unfocused, suspicious, clueless, and bitter. I didn't see a lot of happy, but when I did, it was very noticeable because it was so uncommon.

I wonder if a lot of them don't grow up with so much money that they just never learn to live outside of it, in a manner of speaking. A lot who come into a lot of money it seems, their lives are suddenly burdened with putting all their time into protecting their money and that is very sad. It seems extraordinarily rare for those who have a great deal of money to find a comfort level with it that allows them to still be human and fully enjoy life and others.

Court OKs use of religious pot on federal lands

If you're a Rastafarian who considers marijuana holy, it's legal to light up in Guam -- and maybe in any national park on the West Coast.

...

A conservative three-judge panel said a Rastafarian -- whose Jamaica-based religion regards marijuana as a sacrament that brings believers closer to divinity -- could not be federally prosecuted for merely possessing marijuana, a decision that upheld a portion of the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

....

If it became a nationwide standard, it would also cover such federal enclaves as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, defense lawyers said.

I've always thought that the sacred herb brought me closer to God... and I can only imagine how satisfying it would be, to spark up an humongous, ounce-sized, foot-long Fattie of the Kind Bud, while sitting on the steps of the Capital.

I can see it now... Me with my Fattie sparked, with maybe a little Dead music wafting down the street, from the direction of the Spleef Vendor's cart. The one with the long line of customers waiting.

Must be something to that. I only tried it once, and I'm not particularly close to God...

It always made me dizzy and high, and by the time I got home from the parties my clothes were rearranged somehow.... of course I was always drinking at the same time... I don't want to revisit those years and I don't think God would approve if I did.

Yeah, even friends can be a nuisance sometimes. I've been logging on as invisible for awhile, but some people still don't get it.

I'm doing what you did the other day -- putting away my winter clothes and making room for the summer clothes, but it's taking me all morning to do because I have to try everything on - I have clothes in 4 different sizes and I seem to be in between all of them right now. WHY did I spend the years of 2000 and 2001 gaining weight? Why did I sabotage myself?
Well, I know why, but I've changed my mind and it's much harder to lose weight now than it was when I was young.. uh, younger.

But I wouldn't be happy about becoming an old geezer, all of a sudden!

Your present schedule will make you an old geezer in 2 or 3 years. Listening to geezer rock probably doesn't help.
