Why did Qui-Gon and Anakin, upon death, remain corporeal, while Obi-Wan and Yoda vanished? That question was rumored to be answered in Ep2, and obviously wasn't.

According to my daughter who has read the endless stream of novels it all has something to do with choice, power, and opportunity.

Novels: Rogue Planet is pretty good. Approaching Storm is awful.

re: endless stream of novels...

My non-reader child (in a family of bookworms) really had me concerned. Then the discovery of Star Wars and the mind-boggling sets of fan-fiction books, and I now have a kid who's read almost twenty big books since Christmas!! Not to mention the easier sets of juvenile fiction.

A shame Lucas is stopping with these six. Would enjoy seeing Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford play grandma and grandpa to little Jedis.

But the story I'd really enjoy is the Life of Yoda.

This shows that I am a Star Wars geek, you can see Obi-Wan, Anakin and Yoda because they died at peace in the force. They died as one with the Force because they knew it was time to go and did not fight it, in essence their spirits were consumed by the force and they joined it. Qui-Gon died fighting, but also angry at the coucil and Obi-Won, thus not at one with the Force, my humble opinion.
