George Lucas Filming Scenes to Insert Natalie Portman into 'Return of the Jedi' (Movie from 1985!)

Dark Horzizions (Movie news site) is reporting that Natalie Portman will appear on the 'Return of the Jedi-Star Wars Episode VI' Digital Video Disc.

Music Television apparently re-iterated rumours that Natalie Portman (Senator/Queen Padme Amidala) has signed on to be a part of the new scenes being filmed for 'Episode VI-Return of the Jedi'

She will shoot scenes during the production of Episode III ('Rise of the Empire?-ed.) which will then be re-inserted into the Digital Video Disc release of 'Jedi.'

Yoda was obviously the Master of the Jedi Masters. It makes sense that he would instruct them all. All of the Jedis seem to defer to him.

This shows that I am a Star Wars geek, you can see Obi-Wan, Anakin and Yoda because they died at peace in the force. They died as one with the Force because they knew it was time to go and did not fight it, in essence their spirits were consumed by the force and they joined it. Qui-Gon died fighting, but also angry at the coucil and Obi-Won, thus not at one with the Force, my humble opinion.

Star Wars canon says Anakin is Vader. That's the whole story arc. Pay attention.

Anakin will duel with Obi-Wan and, horribly disfigured, be left for dead. He will be saved and rehabilitated by the Sith. He will assume the new identity of Vader.

BTW, those of you who haven't seen the latest "Star Wars", I highly recommend going to the Digital Version of the film if it's available in your area ... quite a difference really ... if you plan to see it again, seek out the digital screening ...

Lucas *says* no more SW films. Of course, it did take him about fifteen years to get around to doing the first prequel, so we won't know for certain until 2017 or so.

Before the final trilogy, Lucas will have plenty of time to go back and "fix" everything about the first six films that he feels - IN RETROSPECT - could've been done better. Who knows... all those unfortunate racial stereotypes may yet be digitally erased. ( / sarasm )

The factor which will ultimately determine whether we ever see the last three SW films may be found in Spaceballs, where, in Mel Brooks' final scene as "Yogurt", he tells Lonestar and Barf: "Don't worry... we'll see one another again in Spaceballs II - The Search For More Money!"

...and re-retitle the movie back to "Revenge Of The Jedi" (now that much of the public has forgotten about "The Wrath Of Kahn").

It's a matter of finding the right "medium" to convey the idea.

The Looney Tunes (& Merry Melodies) cartoons (now owned by Warner Bros.) have numerous instances of a trolly car bursting through the wall into a person's living room ("...and I suppose you don't believe that I was run down by a streetcar!").

To do this same trick with computer effects doesn't necessarily make it more convincing, it is just "accepted" as the modern visual "language" for that act.

I prefer stop motion animation my self. No, it does not look realistic, it looks "fantastical", but then could any of Ray Harryhausen's creations every be believed? Ever see an Ymir walking down the street? People's chief complaint about stop motion is that there are no motion blur lines. Computer editing could correct this, but few studios want to hire both effects teams for a single scene (the costs would balloon the budget).

One would then have to ignore all the bodies of dead Jedi Knights in the arena on Geonosis. Your theory has credibility as to the state a Jedi Master must be in to disincorporate upon death though.

I saw it for the first time at a digital screen in the Phoenix, AZ area. It was stunning.

I saw it yesterday at a really nice theater with a nice, large screen. I felt like I was watching the entire movie through a filter or something. It was not nearly as vibrant or clear as the digital screening.

I highly recommend going digital

On a side note, if you check dlp.com the number of digital screens in the U.S. tripled from 21 before Star Wars Episode II to 63 upon the release of the film. Awesome! Now I want one closer than 200 miles from my house - especially before Matrix Reloaded comes out. The drive is a pain, but I'll make it to go see Matrix.
