Candy is sleeping under her Daddy's desk, as usual. On weekends she follows her Daddy everywhere he goes. It's so funny to watch.

Candy is an amazing dog, she understands every word I say, although most of the time she chooses to ignore me. ;)

I thought you guys would enjoy this freeper's post:

I grew up during the Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter days, It was a low period after Nixon had to resign, Ford pardoned Nixon (Courageous move) and then we got Carter and we were at rock bottom and showing signs of digging. Carter was an utter fool, he stood by and watched Castro empty his prisons and said "Let the Cuban people come here til Castro stands alone" he then gave birth to terrorism as we know it today when he allowed our citizens to be held hostage for 444 days. And all he did was send sixteen Americans to die in the desert of Iran in his pathetic rescue attempt. My heart still aches for those guys who died in vein.

In 1981 we got Ronald Wilson Reagan the 40th POTUS and changed our country forever. He picked a cabinet that would best serve this nation and he restored the dream we call America. Till this day I love this man like I loved my own father. Ronald Reagan made America what it is today, and if any RAT BASTARD ever tries to tell you any different whip his ass.

Ronald Reagan had a rough start to his presidency and I saw the same criticisms of him as I see today with George W. Bush. In Reagan's first term he made many more mistakes and caved on more issues than GWB has, but he had a vision and believed in it and was willing to give in a little in order to achieve the overall objective. Reagan did not have the House or the Senate on his side, BUT he had the ear of all of us, Bush had the House and Senate but no mandate because he didn't whip Gore like Reagan did Carter. But soon after the election Tom Daschle thwarted the will of the voters by bribing Jim Jeffords and gained control of the Senate by a coup of one.

GWB has had his back to the wall since day one and considering the obstacles he has done a brilliant job. Sure he has caved on some popular issues but so did Ronald Reagan, Hell... Reagan granted Amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and is worshiped by most if not all conservatives, Bush hasn't once said he would grant amnesty and is bashes regularly by FReepers here for something that is assumed he will do by the NYT's and other Liberal RAGS. So when you compare Ronald W. Reagan and George W. Bush in their first 18 months in office you will see that GWB is doing far better than Reagan. Granted that the jury is still out on GWB but his vision is the same as Ronald Reagan. And that is a strong America and he loves this country just as much as Reagan did. I believe George W. Bush is destine to be success, because like Reagan he has chosen a cabinet that will best serve America and not best serve him. He sets his priorities and strongly believes in honor and integrity. And just like Reagan, he plays chess not checkers.

Time will tell my friend, but I'm an optimist and I'm with you.

I think it is wonderful to get dogs from animal shelters...I have known many people who have gotten their dogs and cats from shelters, and they all say the same thing...those shelter animals are the best pets they have ever had...seems as if living in a shelter, the animal seems to know and realize that things are bad for them...and when a kindly soul adopts them from the shelter, those animals realize that they have been given another chance by a loving human....and these animals are determined to fill that humans life with limitless love...

So thumbs up to all those who adopt from animal shelters...Kathleen with her Candy, and Palos Bill, with his Happy, are two such fine representatives of those humans who will take on a scared, skinny, doggie, and give them a home, restore them to health, and love them again...

lol she is her Daddy's shadow
I had dog a lot like Candy, they are devoted
all Candy wants is to be with her Daddy
the dog I had next was reverse, totally independent
the independent ones love us too, just have different style

Candy sounds very intelligent
(I am afraid Lulu is dimwit)
how come Candy doesn't do what you say?
she has her own ideas?

I think Candy is like Clio then
she was border collie crossed with shepherd (I think)
she was puppy stray
she too was brilliant and never did one thing I wanted
altho she wasn't the eater that my devoted dogs were
she lived for fun

lol she was born in Little Italy in Manhattan and her favorite thing to eat was italian hot sausages
I bet Clio was Italian
(she was crazy bout pasta too)
