lol we don't have lawns on desert
it never rains
my yards are just sandy earth
yup, that cactus which got you in Oklahoma is here in my front yard and back yard
the cactus wrens make their nests in them, cause thorns are so long and sharp it is perfectly safe in there

Bill made small pool in earth (he leaves hose on all time)
so birds can drink from it (and bathe in it) and dogs can go in and cool themselves
it is not big (bout size of doggie bathtub)
cause of water it is like small oasis in yard now
the arizona ash next to it drinks from it, and all sorts of small trees have grown up around it
so it is cool and shady spot too, both Lulu and Happy lie there
altho they have cool spots in house too

fire is all over mountain now
the smoke covers it from view now, and I can smell the fire (sometimes)
we do not live close to it, it is right in my line of view tho
(we live in central tucson, mountain is 20 minute car ride away)
