I should have ended with a /sarcasm tag. I know full well the Dems will never allow themselves to be flushed out into the open like that. It's pretty telling that they've already started backing off some of their statements. Although their media lackeys are keeping the issue alive, the Dems know they would come out looking worse than Republicans in any such study.

Actually, I think the Dem are trying to get certain documents as part of their continued attempts to the bridge the separation of powers. They tried it with Cheney and the Enron hot air balloon, and now they're using the 9/11 tragedy to foster a Congressional power grab.

Interestingly enough I heard today on Rush Limbaugh's show that not one democrat uttered that stoooopid question, What did the President know.... It was the press that asked it. Apparently the ultra, ultra liberal Nina Tottenburg pointed that out on Inside Washington... If you can believe it, she supposedly said the press had gotten way out ahead of the story and ran wild with it. You're right, the dems began to back off a little over the weekend and today. I'll be curious to see how they all behave while the President is out of the country this week.
