That picture of Aragorn looking at the army below makes it look like the army is using the Triplex Acies formation used by the Roman legions. Maybe Sauron was a previous incarnation of L.C. Sulla. Acts a lot like him!

This thread has been around for several months, and I just discovered it today! If there's a ping list for it, I'd love to be on it.

I suppose it's too much to hope for to see at least the elves mounted on Arabs. If there's any horse that looks delicate and elegant and "elvish", it's them. Of course, if you know horses, you also know that Arabs are also, pound-for-pound, the toughest, stongest, and hardiest horse out there. They're just so darn small that you have to be 5'2" and weigh 90 pounds to have the right proportions to look good on one, at least for movie purposes.
