Spoilerific or what hair?!

It all sounds pretty good to me, and pretty close to the book, which is a relief!

Faramir leads them to the old sewers where they can elude the orcs.
Not in the book, but oh well...I have a pic of them in the sewers. That explains it!

They see an army of Easterlings marching out.
I have a pic of this too!

Is it too early for a RETURN OF THE KING spoiler thread?!

Hey Hair & Co., I know TTT isn't even out yet, but check out these shots from Rotk!:

Gondorian cavalry ride into battle.

Gondorian Knights in plate armour at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.

Shelob's Lair

Finally, Grond, the great ram forged in Mordor to break down the gates of Minas Tirith. It was said to have the likeness of a ravenous wolf and was named in memory of Morgoth's mace.

Hullo! The only somewhat major complaint with the spoilers above is that Faramir should have been more noble than Boromir. We were not afraid in the book that he would try to take the ring... at least not for long.

And I like the cheesy horse part where Brego comes back after being freed, it sounds sweet for the horse lovers.

I'm thinkin' after seeing #417 that we are going to see, up close and ugly, some fair representations of evil in this picture.

I've always felt that Sam is the "unsung hero" of the novel.

I read (somewhere) that PJ said by the end of the trilogy, it is Sam who emerges as the real hero. He went into the qualities that make Sam stand out ... which we all know here. It was neat.

Thank you so much for posting the info @419. I have a friend staying with me through January who lives in Eastern Europe and hasn't had time to read TTT, and this is going to make it about a thousand times easier to prepare her for watching TTT in December!

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a downloadable version of the "ten minute Two Towers trailer" that I keep hearing so much about?

There is a ten minute preview on disc 2 of the DVD... Might that be it? I don't know of another 10 minute feature. Where are you hearing about it?

You have the DVD?

It's not actually a trailer, it was an extra on the original DVD release. Warofthering.net briefly hosted a downloadable version for a few days, then New Line forced them to remove it. I don't think it's available anywhere right now.

Where are you hearing about it?

That is what I said! Both of us are suddenly concerned that there is maybe something out there we have not seen!

Yes, I have the DVD, so I have seen that footage.

I went to see Men In Black II earlier this summer, and saw a preview that was at least 10 minutes long. I thought that was the "ten minute trailer" that they were referring to.

Did it begin with a shot of Aragorn picking up Pippin's dropped leaf clasp? There was the 4 minute preview that tagged on the end of FoTR... That one is available for download, here and there, or used to be. I haven't heard of a 10 minute trailer in theaters. Is it possible you don't have your notes in order?

I noticed something interesting about the Easterlings. They are wearing the sort of pointy cone hats you find on people in rural areas of China. I guess that makes sense, since China is the FAR EAST!

Wow, those were pretty big pics hair! Nice!

Ready for a whole load of TTT spoiler material? Look no further!

Wanna hear Treebeard's voice from the movie?!

Listen to these clips:

1
2
3
4

Also, here's some more spoiler material for you! Ian McKellen spills the beans about what exactly the opening of TTT is!

"You will see the camera going over some rocks, and then suddenly the camera will go right through the rocks, and you will see Gandalf, and the Balrog, falling. Except this time, the camera will actually follow this down into the abyss and we will see the fight between Gandalf and the Balrog. And what happens after that I can't tell you, because I haven't seen it yet!"

Also the WETA staff have viewed a screening of The Two Towers! NZ staffer Tehanu from TORN got word on the initial reaction!:

"One of my spies has reported to me that the new TT movie is absolutely stunning and that it is even better than the FOTR. Visually a whole step up from the last one. Gollum is absolutely believable, unfortunately I wasn't able to ask about Fangorn. This person has seen it recently and being a film person of long standing is very difficult to impress I put a lot of weight on this opinion."

On a lighter note, could this be the Peter Jackson cameo in TTT?

And even more spoilers in that isn't enough! Our first close up look at the Haradrim:
Here!

Phew!
