"he saved his dad's life." What happened?

Greg had had another really bad insulin reaction in the middle of the night. He did not think clearly and went out to the living room in his underwear, but the fire was out (we only had a woodstove for heat) and it was freezing and he was sweating (drenched) and I didn't notice he was gone from the room (he worked nights, so I was used to him not being there). For some reason Gabe (who was a sound sleeper) woke up and found him and was crying and crying and woke me up and I went out there -- thought he was dead. He was grey and stiff (posturing) and I could not open his mouth to get any sugar in.. but he had a faint pulse and the EMTs had something to get sugar into him (his blood test didn't register any bloodsugar at all) and after several hours in the ER he came back home - the doctors said another few minutes without sugar and getting warm, there wouldn't have been anything left, and I was sound asleep. Gabe was only two then... not three. We had a lot of close calls, but that one was the first big shocker.
