Definitely, the Great Depression played a big role in how most prior generations act/think. While I haven't looked in any sort of depth [putting off til a rainy (?) day (LOL) doing any sort of studying--anyway, it appears, or I am inclined to believe this was all done to satisfy the requirements for federal loan programs or subsidy programs.

It is quite similar to some of the stuff that was required when I was in agriculture and we borrowed from the farm credit program.

I'll tell ya, loddy, the getting rid of smoking after 40 years was totally due to God. I'd tried numerous times to quit and for one reason or another, never quite got it done.

But God answered my prayer for the strength to make it through---I can honestly say I've never craved the taste of a cigarette once since then. In the beginning, I had the urge for something in my mouth--I put on pounds that are now coming off--but God took the nicotine need away.
