Hmmmm, I didn't check that link - it's the one on my profile page, and I think it was set up to take us to *USO Canteen (remember when we had those posts we were supposed to ADD the USO Canteen name in the "To" part to archive the threads. You were the one that set it up for us, I believe) :) I have noticed that THAT's no longer an option at FR, but for some reason I thought the link would take us to the search for the latest Canteen threads. Oh, Well! Thank you for posting the very first one here, Ron!

John Robinson has the unenviable job of keeping all the wild animals in this crazy zoo that we call "Free Republic" (reasonably) happy as he upgrades the forum software to reflect the realities of rapidly changing technology and our rather limited budget.
As I understand it, there are some WONDERFUL new cataloging and search functions coming - eventually.

Until then, the "bump list" technique that we used for the USO Canteen - i.e., posting a reply on each thread to one of the special "bump list" names, like USO Canteen - still works to collect threads of interest to previously defined groups. See:
