I asked my nephew about leaving your computer on all the time. He said that if your dsl requires you to log on and off then it probably is ok. But if you are on cable where you don't log on, but are on as soon as you start up, it is best not to leave it on when you are not using it. To do so just gives the bad boys more of an opportunity to hit you. Ratty and others may have another opinion. In my case I am on cable and shut down when I am not using the computer. After being hacked last year.. I just don't want to give any bad boy/girl the greater opportunity to make my life miserable.

"Very good choice..."
I guess you can get away with more with liberals...they don't know the difference. Nully's smart enough not to say that to any of us, well, except maybe for Mo.

" then what am I????" A yankee who thinks it's an address of endearment?
To: Mo1
Sorry, Mo, no slight meant! You're as much a lady as I am (hehehehe).

Got this in my e-mail this morning:
May the Good Lord bless our moms richly for choosing life!
My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE - "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside - I just finished cleaning!"
My mother taught me RELIGION - "You better pray that will come out of the carpet!"
My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL: "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
My mother taught me LOGIC: "Because I said so, that's why."
My mother taught me FORESIGHT - "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."
My mother taught me IRONY - "Keep crying and I'll GIVE you something to cry about."
My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS - "Shut your mouth and eat your supper!"
My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM - "Will you look at the dirt on the back of your neck!"
My mother taught me about STAMINA - "You'll sit there 'til all that spinach is finished."
My mother taught me about WEATHER - "It looks as if a tornado swept through your room."
My mother taught me how to solve PHYSICS PROBLEMS - "If I yelled because I saw a meteor coming toward you; would you listen then?"
My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY - "If I've told you once, I've told you a million times - Don't exaggerate!!!"
My mother taught me THE CIRCLE OF LIFE -"I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."
My mother taught me about ENVY - "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do!"

Happy Mother's Day
To: sweetliberty
Some of those sound familiar, but my mom had a few others, like: If I didn't behave, she'd send me to the Indians. Now, did she mean some of the tribes in the midwest, or one of the reservations in the desert southwest? Did she mean the Indians in India, whom she was always reminding me didn't have the food we had, and when I wasn't cleaning my plate, she'd remind me that the starving children in India would be happy to have my food? She also tod me she wished that when I grew up, that I would have at least 3 children just like me!

Scenes of former President Carter and current dictator Fidel are littering the telly this morning.

A dastardly duo.. which could be correctly misspelled as dasturdly duo
To: catpuppy
I am spared those scenes of Carter and Castro. My husband is watching Washington University's medical channel grand rounds - one was on brain tumors, the other on corrective opthalmic surgery. I'm on the computer...

Your word of the day is "duumvirate".
Cool word, adds to my very short list of words where "u" appears twice in a row...

Why thank you Catpuppy.

So let me see if I have this right....thses people were generating sexually explicit e-mails and not just receiving them? Seems like an odd story, but then not many details are given.
To: ValerieUSA
I just skimmed it, but it seems pretty bizarre to me. Why make the gory details public?

To: sweetliberty
They were state employees who would send dirty e-mails to each other on state computers during state time. I don't see the point in making the e-mails public, unless the fired employees want to fight the disciplinary action in court.
