I bet it would be an antique...and kids today, would look at it and wonder what in the world it was used for, and when we would tell them, they would just roll their eyes, and wonder why in the world we sometimes think we grew up in 'the good old days'...and I can still picture the old iron we used...just black and grey...not like the new fancy irons that we have nowdays...

And I remember before we had our nifty automatic washing machines, my mom had the old wringer type washer down in the basement...put all those clothes in the tub, and have to get the water in there, and then rinse them out, and then pull them through the wringer, one piece at a time...and often a piece had to go through the ringer more than once, to get all the excess water out...

So washing clothes was really an all day project...and ironing the families clothing was an all day project...I remember, my mom always washed on Tuesday, and she spent all day washing...and Wednesday was ironing day, and she spent all day ironing...

Ah we ladies today, have it much easier, with our automatic washers and dryers...and perma press clothing...

Its no wonder, to me, that often when you look at pictures of my moms generation, and the ladies look so much older than we do at the same age...heck, their day sure had a lot more of grungy, hard work...

Makes me appreciate my dear momma all the more....
