Now theres a memory...cooking popcorn on the stove...in our house, we had a special big pan, and cover, that was used for one thing, and one thing only, popping popcorn...

Now, I happen to just love popcorn, and I bet I made popcorn 5 nityes out of seven...so that pan sure got used...it was never, ever washed...just wiped out the excess oil and grunge that was left from popping...what a grand memory...

Now the most fun we ever had with popping corn on the stove, happened when I was downstairs of my parents, visiting with my aunt and uncle and cousins....my aunt decided to pop some popcorn for us kids...so she got out her pan, heated up the oil, when the oil was hot, added the popcorn, and then...YIKES...she could not find the lid for the popcorn pan....and you know when the popcorn kernels hit the hot oil, they begin to pop almost right away....

Well, by the time my aunt finally found the lid to the pan, probably 2/3 of the popcorn had popped and flew right out of the pan...there it was, popcorn flying all over the kitchen, and 4 wild crazy kids trying to catch it, and laughing the whole time....we thought it was just grand to have popcorn flying all over...

We sure were deflated when auntie found the lid and put it on the pan....we were having such a good time, and she went and ruined it...

We always begged her to do that again, but alas, that was thought to be a waste of money, by allowing all that popcorn to fly all over...but it sure entertained and delighted us little devilish kids at the time...
