I lived in the Twin Cities for a few years in the mid-'80s. The Twins can make a healthy go of it if two things happen:
1. A retractable roof stadium. If ever there was a franchise that needs one, it's the Twins. It's too cold in April and September-October to have an open-air stadium, but the fully-enclosed Metrodome is a depressing mausoleum. (BTW, Miller Park in Milwaukee looks like it's a poorly done retracter: The roof creaks and leaks!)
2. Enough payroll to field a decent team consistently.
