I figured it out it was NBC's 75th Aniv.

They just light off a bunch of fireworkds at Rockafeller (sp?) Center ..

I was watching some of that show on the TV at the Y... Martin Short was really funny when he did the theme songs. I laughed out loud (forgetting where I was) when they showed a clip of Michael Landon on Hulaballou, very young, dancing in place, snapping his fingers, singing the welcome song and looking like an underage lounge lizard
