I was at a dinner last weekend hosted by a friend of ours. One of the older gentlemen at our table got to talking politics - and politicians. He was adamant that history will show that Clinton will be one of our greatest presidents, right up there with FDR. Well, I started to laugh right out loud, and nearly sprayed my wine all over the table. I was just choking. I didn't even need to say anything after that. Normally, I'm well-mannered at dinner parties, but this was too too much.

I was at my in-laws and I mentioned about Peter Jennings taking a pay cut and my brother in-law was upset because Peter Jennings has the best news coverage

I said Peter Jennings is a Socialist Pig .. the room got real quite after that ... hehe

That would do it for me. I have had similar experiences but I always feel handicapped and seldom pursue the discussion, I guess because I figure it is pointless to argue with anybody that would make such an assanine statement. They obviously aren't playing with a full deck.
