Is that how you describe your Free Republic friends, "invisible friends"? I've been trying to come up with a way to easily and naturally describe/mention my FR friends. I sort of like "cyber friends". Invisible friends is certainly 'different'....rather reminds me of one of my step-daughters....she had a special little invisible friend who went everywhere with the family [before my time].
They were concerned about her starting school with this invisible friend and how the children would tease her. The local banker apparently handled this in a wonderful way.
Seems as though he knelt down to speak with Sandy and to her 'friend'. He told her that he and his wife couldn't have real pets, but he sure liked hers....she gave him her friend and that was the end of make believe with her.
I always call my online friends my invisible playmates, even the ones I've met. Well, when we're online we are invisible right? Well, except for the ones who have web cams...and I do NOT go there! There is a reason the videophone never caught on!
