I see a thread with some people agreeing with the gov't that babies should never sleep in adult beds with their parents. Some babies have suffocated. I'll bet they were sleeping with drunken or passed out dopers, not with a sober breast-feeding mom in most cases.

Hi Val....I haven't read that thread....but just the discussion reminds me of when my Deni was a few days old and I was rummy from sleep deprivation/sleep interruption...after the 5 a.m. attempt at nursing her, I fell asleep.

In perhaps a half hour, I woke with a start...and no baby. I started grabbing covers, crying, checked between the bed and the wall....under the bed....began crying hysterically....no baby....my Mom rushed in my room......grabbed my shoulders shaking me....pointed to the bassinet!

There she was....sleeping peacefully! I was so rummy that I had put her away before I fell asleep--I just didn't remember doing it!
