I remember when that erupted we could see the ash as far as Colorado. For a few days it just looked an unnatural kind of gray and hazy.

About St. Helens and its erupting.....our cattle where black/white face and brown/white face.....but when St. Helens went off, they were black and grey or brown and grey....the only thing white was around their eyeballs.

We wound up feeding them under the tree canopy across the creek down near the river....our Vet was recommending that or under a shed roof because the consumption of a lot of that ash could grind their teeth down...I was more concerned with possible respiratory problems.
