Oh hell all these religions confuse me

I think all protestant church doctrines believe in the imaculate conception of Christ, but that none of them accept the imaculate conception of Mary, or the virginity of her mother.

There are people in all seminaries who teach radical liberal stuff contrary to doctrine.

God's people wandered in and out of the covenant like many do the covenant of marriage, but God has not broken His part. If He did it would make Him a liar when He said that His promise to them was forever. It was foreordained their rejection that the gentiles might be "grafted in" but He will again gather His people to Himself. But for the grace of God, there would have been no chance for ALL to be saved.

Paul did not corrupt the doctrine. Paul wrote of his own experiences as a man, he also wrote instructions that were inspired by the Spirit - not his own experience in the world. The two types of passages in Paul's writings must be given two kinds of consideration today. In his time, the persecution of the early church was real - he himself had been the most vicious persecutor with the jealous hatred of the Jews and the power of his Roman citizenship.
He knew how vulnerable women were to terrible abuse (think of female POWs) and that being married to a Christian leader was a dangerous proposition. He thought it was selfish and irresponsible for a man called to preach and teach to take a wife and risk her life (and their children's lives) to torture and death - and also to risk his loyalty to his calling and the people he ministered to. When you confessed your faith to a preacher or another Christian, you put your very life into his hands, and he could be tortured to give up your name at any time.... or his wife could be tortured.

I did not say God broke His promise - I said He fulfilled it in Christ.

We do have sacramental confession in the Episcopal church, but it is an option, not a requirement. It is my understanding that the 7 sacraments of the Catholic church are more or less equal. In the Episcopal church, only baptism and Holy Eucharist are considered true sacraments. The others are considered lesser sacraments.

God continues to fulfill all of His promises in Christ. The Kingdom of God is not Israel.

Fear and loathing of women drips from everything the man wrote.

He was a devout Jew before conversion in middle age. Where was his wife? He could never have been employed by the Temple for any purpose if he did not have one. What did he do to/with her?

Oh... there's another difference. I am taught that only Christians are joint heirs with Jesus. I guess you can be one of His children in this world, but not be an heir. That always causes problems.....

Think of what constituted a "devout Jew" in those days --- King Herod?
