We really are not interested in flying places...I am terrified of flying, and I have to be ginned up to the gills, before I even get on a plane...when we had to fly from Sea-Tac to Ithaca for my sons college graduation, I was a wreck...but at that time, flying was our only alternative, given the hubbys time constraints from work...that was 6 yrs ago, and I have not flown since, nor do I intend to fly again....and before that it had probably been 35 yrs since I had flown...

So if we go anywhere, it will be by means other than plane...if we go to Mexico, or Baja, it will be by means of an RV...

Yes, we did have a grand time in Seattle, but it was so good to get home...I think most people, when they are away from home, even tho they are having a good time, cant wait to get back home again...home is where you can be yourself, be comfy...and of course we so missed Dizzy, our special boy...we worried about him while we were gone...he was fine, but you could tell he was so lonely while we were gone, and was so glad to have us home....

When I woke up this morning, Dizzy was in one of his favorite chairs, just all curled up with his paws over his face, and just snoozing..he was happy and content to have his 'mommy and daddy' back home again, where they belonged...

On the concept of enjoying being back home, when my son returned from his year long around the world trip, I honestly thought he would be bored by life back in the USA, after all his wild exploits...and I said as much to him when he returned...

He had maintained a website, while on his trip, telling us all of his adventures...and after he returned, he did a page, about his thoughts upon his return...and thus I will post just a small rendition of what he said about returning home, because I think its appropriate for all of us....Below follows his thoughts..

"Some people thought I would never want to come home, that life here would be too mundane. In reality, that's too harsh a judgment. Home is where everything makes sense, where everything is easy. Where people know all my little quirky mannerisms and I know theirs. Where I feel I belong. No matter how much I love Tibet, I will just never fit in there; it's too alien, and so am I. I wouldn't have it any other way. I would never say I got homesick or lonely per se, but still you never forget about where you are from, you do miss the people who know you so well. There's always something calling you back home when you have a home to go back to I think. So yes, it's good to be back in many ways."

I think what he says here, applies to all of us...when we have a home, there is nothing more dear than returning to that home...

rofl if westy were sheriff I would not want to cause trouble for him
and if I could freep in jail, it would entertain my mind
but you read andysmom's post bout being home where you belong
I'd miss Happy and Lulu and Bill
and goin' swimmin'
and taking Lulu for her little morning walks she enjoys so much
plus I like looking at birds hoppin' 'round my palo verde tree while I post
what kind of view is there from westy's jail?
