There are four kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, statistics and corporate earnings reports.
So, does that mean that what you REALLY meant to say was: "Some companies will lie to protect themselves and their valuation IN the stock market??"
Because I really fail to see how the whole market 'is a lie.'

The market as a whole is a lie (bluff, deception, renamed debt, hidden asset, tax dodge, fraud, proxy, bonus, projected earnings - all a game played by rule-bending or breaking) individual companies may be true. Show me one.
