Whoops, Sorry... :(

Here is a powerful article from a noted European leftist. However, Oriana Fallaci is one of those rare "thinking" lefties who, like Christopher Hitchens, is able to recognize hatred and evil when she sees it. Moreover, she has the courage to condemn it as well as her fellow liberals who sympathize with or support it. I suppose I'm naive but I had sincerely believed that anti-semitism existed only in small, lunatic, fringe groups. Sadly, since 9-11, I've come to realize it is alive and apparently wide-spread in Europe, a place that was once almost destroyed in part by that very bigotry and hate. Although in this piece Fallaci misses the mark a couple of times about Christians, all in all it is so very much worth the read. I can only imagine what a stir it must have caused among her
enlightend, morally superior European readers and fellow journalist.
On Jew-hatred in Europe
BTW, after 9-11 Fallaci wrote a long and incredibly moving piece about the attacks and of her admiration for America. I didn't run across it until some months later. It brought tears to my eyes then as now. Some of you may have read it, it's very long but it's a keeper. Anger and Pride
