There may be unpopulated Islands, but every one of them is the sovereign territory of some Nation. None are unclaimed.

Many of the ones in the Caribbean are Bahamian. Although the Bahamas are not technically in the "Caribbean". I think the Bahamas have about 700 islands and only a small percentage are inhabited. Several of them are privately owned. Paradise Island, one of the larger ones, near Nassau was once privately owned until the owner decided to develope it. Lots of cruise lines own Bahamian islands. Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic, owns an island further down in the Caribbean.
