Why don't I have a real calendar? - the internet is worthless (okay, maybe it's me)
To: Mo1
Oh good, thank you - I wanted to avoid travelling that weekend. I'll leave on the 28th then. Gavin graduates on the 25th.

Do kids get out of school in early or mid-June in N Carolina? In Washington they get out around the 12th, but in Texas they get out in May.

This is kind of interesting:
Teacher in space This woman, Barbara Morgan, was the backup for Christa McAuliffe, the teacher in space, when the Challenger blew up. I was acquainted with Barbara when I lived in McCall, in central Idaho. I played viola in the chamber orchestra, she played flute and violin (not at the same time!).

I think it got hotter in Philly the last couple of days than it was here in Texas.
To: ValerieUSA

Oh thanks Mo. I was hoping they got out later there, so I could avoid them - my own kids are enough. *L*

I thought it was amazing that they were still using the old list and hadn't recruited a new batch of teachers to pick from by now.
To: ValerieUSA
It is definitely in May ... I can double check with my brother to see when his kids get out of school ..

I hope all the stores you visited had their air conditioning cranked up.

Oh my, I am just so embarrassed. But then I don't know why after all they are men and I think it is nice that Jim and the Guys let us play with them. But then typing is in my genes so I do feel useful that way. Thanks for bein' so neighborly.

Rowdee is driving to Phoenix, isn't she? I wonder if she's making a straight shot there, or stopping for the night somewhere first. I drove from Twin Falls Idaho to Gallup New Mexico in one day, but it wasn't much fun. Beautiful scenery in Utah once we got past the road construction in Salt Lake City. Couldn't see a thing there at all.

It is unusual for them to be in school past the first few days of June, without having missed a bunch of days in the winter due to snow. They haven't missed any days this year.
Some schools have adopted that year-round schedule where the students get a few weeks off at a time, about 3 or 4 times a year.

They spent a lot of time and money training her, so I suppose they don't need to worry about training anybody else.

"Tennessee and Arkansas might be worth looking at" The Ozarks in northwest Arkansas are awesome and the place to visit is without a doubt Eureka Springs, and if you can get there, the Passion Play is a must see! It is incredible. And the shops in downtown Eureka Springs are delightful. It is a very artsy and charming Victorian style town nestled in the Ozarks and everything you will find there is quite unique and there is never a lack of wonderful food! And it is a photograpers paradise. I think on my first trip there I went through nearly 20 rolls of film.
Oh, and Tennessee is one of the prettiest states there is to drive through in my opinion, especially the eastern part around Chattanooga.
Here is a picture of one of the more famous houses in Eureka Springs done up in Christmas lights.

I guess it won't make much difference if we are on the Outer Banks the first week or the second week of June. Ihave to be in Annapolis on a wqeekend to see Grant, so I'm trying to decide if I can make it there the first weekend (June 1 and 2) and then do the outer banks, or start later and do the outer banks first and go to Annapolis the second weekend. I hate making decisions - that's how regrets get started. *LOL*

"Don't they have those wild ponies???" That would be Assateague Island off the coast of Virginia and Maryland. That's near Teeman.
