RAMALLAH, West Bank -- Israeli soldiers and elite forces today captured Marwan Barghouti, a close aide to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and a leader of a group that has claimed responsibility for dozens of attacks against Israel, including suicide bombings. (Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade)
Barghouti, 41, was detained at the house of Fatah official Ziad Abu Ain, who also was picked up in Ramallah, Palestinian West Bank security chief Jibril Rajoub told The Associated Press. He warned against harming Barghouti.

He sends out teenagers, even girls, to blow themselves up in murderous attacks against Israeli civilians, but he gives himself up without a scratch and his friends warn that he is not to be harmed. COWARD

That doesn't surprise me, not one little bit. They're loathesome, scheming and duplicitous by nature, completely untrustworthy. Fortunately, Israel knows her enemies and how to deal with them effectively. I'm proud of the way Israel has conducted this war. They're method of neogotiating will achieve a peace that diplomatic sit downs could never accomplish.

Well the truth is they don't turn it on due to the cost of running .. and there houses don't really cool off

A few years ago I updated the my heating/AC system and it was worth EVERY penny ..

They end up with a 400 electric bill and still a hot house and I end up having 150 electric bill and a cold house

This is one of the reasons way all the neighborhood kiddies are always over my house in the summer ..

Inefficient heating and cooling systems need to be replaced - I don't know why people resist making the change. I never hear of anyone being dissatisfied with an updated CH/AC.

FOFL. Like I said, "Too bad you're neighbors aren't as enlightened. FOFL "

I have a new heating and A/C system, too. I've been very happy with the AC. I moved in last year during our hottest, most humid month- August - and it was great. I wasn't as happy with the heating or the heating bills over the winter. My bill doubled.

retro-active grant applications ?

I was kinda wondering if they needed more subjects. (You're too funny by half.)

That is what they and the Europeans are saying about the Israelis. Frankly, I can't see a bit of difference between them as people.

Because the Palistinians are terrorists we need to kill them. The Israelis for the first time in history make sensible allies, but that does not in any way make them nice people. No more than it did the Northern Aliance in Afghanistan.

A very smart move with the new HVAC system - they indeed will pay for themselves quickly, and it's so nice to be able to jack the t'stat down to "Chill Meat" if you so desire. Good job.

As a renter I have NEVER had an efficient heating system in a house I've lived in (except maybe the woodstove we installed in our tiny shack in Mossyrock - though it was a lot of work to keep it stocked with firewood). Now I live in a house that has a NEW furnace (because the old one was broken when we moved in so the landlord's agency replaced it) and the savings were UNbelieveable! I'm not sure about the cooling suystem here yet, but it has to be a HUGE improvement over the old window units in the last place we lived.

I bought a big marked-down rib steak this morning at the grocery store (under $3) and had it for lunch with wine. I am starting to get happy despite the awful news of the day.
