Film's a Tower de force

THESE are the first pictures from the stunning second movie in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

The eagerly-awaited The Two Towers continues the tale of hobbit Frodo Baggins and his pals from the first film, box office smash The Fellowship Of The Ring.

Our exclusive stills show a host of new heroes joining the cast, including sexy Aussie actress Miranda Otto as Eowyn, White Lady of Rohan.

Brit Bernard Hill stars as her uncle, King Theoden of Rohan, and Karl Urban and David Wenham play brave warriors Eomer and Faramir.

Brad Dourif plays Grima Wormtongue, adviser to Theoden, who isn’t all he seems.

In The Two Towers, Frodo continues on his mission to destroy the evil One Ring.

Meanwhile, his former companions join up with the valiant Riders of Rohan to attack wicked wizard Saruman.

The movie, filmed in New Zealand, climaxes in an epic battle between the forces of good and evil.

The Fellowship took £596million at the box office worldwide, making it the fifth-biggest grossing movie ever.

It is already at No26 in The Sun’s recent “bums-on-seats” chart, which ranked films by audience numbers.

But fans will have to be patient – The Two Towers doesn’t open until December 18.

I am reminded of what it felt like to wait for Santa when I was a young hobbit.

I would never tell! - And if you were, perhaps, to buy your hubby a leather vest and a green elven cloak with a leaf clasp, I would recommend to your husband that he wear it.

Excellent idea, gentle hobbit. I hope Galadriel has opened a clothing store in the midwest. Nothing less than the best for my lord.

Ahh - I see your thread was moved to GI - I have indexed it to the Hobbit Topic!

Dear Mr. John Rob, is there any chance that our Topic Title could be changed to Lord of the Rings? (shortcut LOTR)?

The Hobbit Hole Topic that exists in the Dailies is appreciated, but now the other LOTR threads get indexed to dailies too if we use that topic... and that probably shouldn't be. The Hobbit Hole can stay there to mark our daily, but there may be scads of eventual posts on the upcoming films during the year(s) to come. LOTR topic would make more sense in the long run.

What I don't know, because I haven't looked yet, is whether the price is reasonable for the features. It does come with an "exclusive video" hehehehe - although I don't care about the AOL frap it also comes with.

It says in the list of features that it will play CD-ROM disks... Does that mean it will play the .avi and Quicktime files I have downloaded? I am unfamiliar with DVD players, but need to get schooled quick.

It says in the list of features that it will play CD-ROM disks... Does that mean it will play the .avi and Quicktime files I have downloaded?

You can burn VCD disks on your CD-ROM and play them in some DVD players. (You must select a special option in your burning software.) Compressed formats like .mpg will need to be converted/uncompressed to .avi ...VCD is roughly VHS quality.

Eowyn.

Can't wait to see her in armor. I've always loved her character.
