Unreal Tournament Players out there?

Any Freepers out there that play Unreal Tournament or other online games? - I like to play on the public servers, but it would be more fun to shoot at people I know once in awhile...

I have cable and could host a group game, or maybe someone with an even faster connection would be better...

That worked a lot better. I downloaded the 4.36 patch so it should work the next time I try it. I think about 3-4 players would work pretty good but 12! Jeez Louis! I could barely take ten steps without getting fragged. That was fun though. I work at night so I won't be able to play UT at night during the weekdays. Management frowns at playing UT on their servers. ;) But we could try again on Saturday-Sunday. Maybe we can get Yakboy and others on board next time. I would like to try a team DM or CTF.

Does anyone want to deathmatch later tonight? Maybe around 6 PST, 9 Eastern. I'd like to try to run as a server again. I should have all of the bugs worked out this time. :)

I've downloaded a few maps that would be fun to try out. One is DM-Galleon and another is DM-Atzlan.

Package "de" mismatch on your server again. It let me download the map, and then kicked me... I wish I knew what that was.

went and hung out the other backups for a bit - Not getting great pings at any of them.... Will hang here for a few minutes to see if you are looking, then may go back... If you aren't in one of the backups, I will just go fend for myself.

Heheh - few bugs in our system. Maybe I can try to host and see if the Package "de" thing is a problem both directions.

Darn, I'll go hop on one of the alternates. I'll suggest an extra alternate. It's called **Postal DM** , it's pinging real good for me.

Played for a bit and got tired quick. Been out in the sun all day and my reflexes stink... I was just a target tonight!

I got on to the Wes1800 server. That was fun, they have big maps all weekend on that server. There were about 12 people on it but the maps were so huge it was perfect. It was an excellent sniper environment. We'll probably have to change/update the server list. [CSHP] M4e|Clanserver name was changed to "M4e|Clanserver www.macforever.de" (no [CSHP] )and [CSHP][RAGE]Clan PURE,MapVote3 TDM seems to be offline for about a week.

I guess you'll have to host a game until I figure out what's going on with mine. I'll probably get on the wes1800 server later tonight around 6:00PM central /4 PST.

Ok, I e-mailed tech support at planetunreal.com and they suggested deleting your "de.u" file found in the system folder of unreal tournament. We have different versions and it's causing the mismatch. This file will download when you try to connect to me as the host server. You might want to move it to a safe place so you can put it back if it messes up running UT. I think I'll run a dedicated server tonight which I'll start before I go to work. So I won't be on it, but you'll be able to try it out and have it all to yourself and anyone else that has the password. The password is still "freep" all lowercase. I think I'll try to put bots on it so you'll get a challenge if you get on it. They'll drop out automatically if anyone jumps on. Good luck and let me know how well it worked. (crossing my fingers) ;)

I got out early this morning and mowed my lawn, so now I have plenty of free time the rest of the day. What to do, what to do? I think I'll dedicate some quality time to some Unreal CTF today! That's it! ;)

I've scouted four CTF servers that give good pings and let you vote on maps. I'll probably be on one of these today, come on over if you have the time. The servers are:

Thanks for the ping - I moved out to the country recently and don't have high-speed access....looks like I'll have to sit out - I think UT over dial-up would fry the line.

Know anything about home satellite connectivity via DirecTV/Honeywell? I might start a thread to see if anyone knows about this....that would put me on the UT circuit again!

My brother Ramius is on dial up and he can find servers where he can play OK... IF there aren't all kinds of downloads and add-ons on the server. It takes him forever to get in if there is.

I don't know a thing about the satellite providers... you would get answers if you start a thread!

Cool let me know when the next match is, I'll work on it. I've got to find UT again and get it installed.

BTW, beautiful horses - we have 3 of our own. My wife used to show - western and english a few years ago.
