GREAT NEWS! ANOTHER VICTORY! KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN, PIZZA HUT, AND TACO BELL SAY THEY WILL NO LONGER SPONSOR THE SHIELD!
OneMillionMoms.com and OneMillionDads.com have won another victory! Earlier today the parent company Tricon Global called and said they would no longer sponsor the program. They asked that we please stop the e-mails! They got the message because you sent it!
When we get involved, let our voice be heard with all the other OneMillionMoms.com and OneMillionDads.com, advertisers listen. Thanks to those who sent the e-mails. Thanks for getting involved. Just think of what an awesome influence we can have when we get more participating! So right now I'm urging you to send an e-mail to all your friends asking them to join OneMillionMoms.com or OneMillionDads.com. Ask them to take a stand for their children. Yes, we do accept and desire singles to participate. Our growth will come only as our members encourage others to join and participate. So please help us by inviting others to become a part of OneMillionMoms.com and OneMillionDads.com today! We have already thanked Tricon Global for you, so please don't send them any e-mails.

The difference here is that we aren't calling on the state to do anything. We are educating the sponsors. They freely CHOOSE to revoke their sponsorships.
You've really sugar-coated it and made it sound hunkey-dorey. But your method of education is mass e-mail threats and harassment. Why not create one centralized petition or document and send it to the CEO? Why did everyone in your organization have to send separate e-mails?

But your method of education is mass e-mail threats and harassmentHey, just turn your head if it offends you.

Your preening sophistry an arrogance makes you unworthy of debate time. You debate in bad faith and refuse to do any self-examination. It isn't that your point concerning boycotts is entirely invalid, it is that you refuse to see the issue any other way and heap abuse on anyone who disagrees with you. So abuse is what you get in return. Don't dish it out if you can't take it.
What I have done, your pretentiousness, is voice my opinion and answer the replies to my position, which in every instance, were misunderstood (unfortunately, NOT due to lack of clarity on my behalf). Please pardon me if my frustration with stupidity, or as you like to call it, "preening sophistry" - a big word for such a feeble little mind - has come off as "arrogant."

Hey, just turn your head if it offends you.
I'm not going to turn my head since I have stock in what you're doing. I happen to like "The Shield" a whole heck of a lot.

I get the impression you seem to watch the freedom of choice for yourself, but not for those who may happen to not share the same beliefs as yours. Is that really freedom? This describes the lifestyle police mentality very well.
The injection of their religious belief into the
public schools is aimed at suborning individual resistance
to this stealth theocracy before it can be formed.

We are educating the sponsors. About a show you admitted you know nothing about. Nice.

You know, I was about to tell you the same thing! Instead of going around like Jesse Jackson and other LIBERALS, shaking down companies in order to impose your self-righteous beliefs, don't watch the show! You call yourself a conservative and you have all these happy quotes about liberty on your profile, but obviously you have no respect for the Constitution, the right to free speech, the freedom to associate, and the very idea of liberty itself. Now wait a minute.
1. JJ goes around demanding to be paid off. Unless you have proof that the One million Dads (or AFA) is demanding money to call off the boycott, then the comparsion does not stand. (if you do have proof, post a link. I'd love to read it.)
2. And since no one is demanding that the Gov't shut down or censor the television station, your comments on the constitution and freedom of speech, etc, really don't apply. After all the 1st Admendment restricts the Congress. It does not restrict individuals from expressing their opinions about the media or organizing boycotts.

About a show you admitted you know nothing about. Where did I say that? I simply pointed to a description of the show.

Nah... Appy Pappy believes in freedom. He believes in a nation where the people rule. Where people rule the government, corporations, and anthing else they want to rule. We live in a land where no corporation can survive doing things the people don't want done.
What bothers you is not the freedom. It is the fact that people who believe as appy Pappy does are far more numerous than people who believe as you do.
You hate. You said that in your first statement. You are a hatefull person by your own admission.
In this nation all it takes is to get a large number of people who agree with you organized and you can cause almost anything to happen. You can cause programs to be aired and others to be taken off the air.
The most fundamental freedom we have is the right to assemble to protest what we don't like and support what we do. That goes all the way back to the magna carta.
Appy Pappy used the system to get somthing done he believes in. That means getting lots of people on his side and getting them to act. That is no small feet.
You hate becuase you are angry. You are angry because few people support your view. You need followers to gain power.
I'll give you a clue.. people who hate never get followers. They only get enemies.

You call yourself a conservative and you have all these happy quotes about liberty on your profile, but obviously you have no respect for the Constitution, the right to free speech, the freedom to associate, and the very idea of liberty itself. If you don't want to be in a boycott, buy the product. Boycotts are totally free speech and freedom to associate and the very idea of liberty. If someone doesn't want to buy something because the company is sponsoring a show they don't like, you can't force them buy that product.

It hasn't been that long ago that everyone was contacting the sponsors of Politically Incorrect, trying to get Bill Mahar taken off and everyone was 'gung-ho' on that!

We won. That's all that matters.
To: AppyPappy
Actually, that's not true. I was reading an article yesterday about how Taco Bell, KFC, et al dumped the show and how replacement sponsors were already lining up in droves to get ad time. You failed, miserably at that, but if you gain some sort of self-satisfaction (cool alliteration!) from this cause, then I am glad it could bring some inkling of joy and purpose to your life, even if it was only for a fleeting moment. Cheers!
To: chriservative
OK. It was an amazing coincidence. Sure. I believe you.
To: AppyPappy
Okay, you fool. I will start looking for it again. You are clearly dillusional and are in need of some serious, serious therapy. Do you really think I would make this up? What purpose could that possibly serve me? Stay tuned.
To: chriservative
I thought you were changing the channel? If it bothers you so much, just don't respond.
To: AppyPappy
Okay, here's one - not the one that I had read initially, but it still discusses how new advertisers have lined up, the ratings numbers (which will guarantee new sponsorship) are setting records, and the fact that the show is still 75% sold for the first 13 episodes. Enjoy!
