Threads still look and 'feel' okay, but the 'front door' leaves much to be desired and could/should be done better or returned back to its former appearance IMHO....

The only thing that I would suggest and have in the past is that a link back to the forum be placed on my email pages. Currently I have to press the back button several times or go to my favorites and come in through the front door again.

Here is a thread from Jon Robison concerning the state of the BETA testing so far.

One of the thing I'm excited about is a plan to have real time chat. Now that should be fun.

You mean this isn't real time? Oh no and all the while I thought we were chatting for real.

All joking aside, it can only get better.

I like it. However I wanted to post a question in Your Opinion this morning, but it never went through. Perhaps someone can answer my question here.

So here I go. I am getting a new computer and am debating if I should use the Norton Firewall or stick with ZA. I have ZoneAlarm Pro on theis computer and am very much pleased with it. But I am planing to get Norton System2002 and I thought I might try the firewall also.

I miss having a distinct identifier for each post. That made it easier when refreshing to know where you were so you only looked at the new stuff. Other than that little gripe, I like it.

I know my eyes are not as sharp as those of many younger readers, but I have to squint to see the lead sentences beneath the "headline" of the postings. If the type were the same font and size as that in the stories themselves, I'd be comfortable. Otherwise, the new interface is fine.

The only improvement I can see would be to have the white background made into one say the color of very light vanillia pudding or pale cream. It would make it easier on us old geezers with old eyes to read the text.

I've been here for maybe four revisions. You get used to it and forget the old format.

As of yesterday, the page has been re-sized and I have to use my bottom horizontal scroll bar to see the stuff on the far right of the page, like "posts to me" and such.

What is up with that?

Also, it takes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer to open pages, and I have "ISDN"--the fastest connection available in Europe.

At first I HATED it. I was so lost and couldn't find my way around.

But it has grown on me and I love it now!

The only bad thing I have to say about it is that it takes longer to load for me. But other than that, two big thumbs up! Good job!

The ability to adapt is one of the first signs of intelligence. A good test for us all.
