I hope so too, but since "they" are likely to have very different plans for the kid, we'd probably better start taking up a collection for his legal defense. Or arranging to have him spirited away and given a new identity. I don't even want to think about what "they" might do to a teenager who fired a real gun in self defense -- poor kid'll probably do time in an adult prison, and we all know what happens to teenage boys there . . .

A thing to be hoped for. However, I don't know the laws in CO but I'd imagine the first thing they'd do is charge the lad with illegal possession of a firearm (by a minor don'cha know). I hope they don't find him.
