We find FR wips simple-minded surrogates into submission based upon government dawgs.

The loss of personal opinion upon FR is increasing. We might as well give up our lives, our stake for personal property and natural rights to ADMIN_MODERATOR.

I do know that Pakistan seems to be, but the uncanny observation by many, that nations such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, seemed to be turning their heads the other direction in regards to terrorism, has been a complaint for years. Which only proves that you need to read between the lines a little harder. Egypt and Saudi Arabia, considered moderate Islamic nations, have been fighting a pitch battle with their fundementalist elements for decades. Forget what they say in public, which to a large part is designed to appease the agitated masses within their borders. The ruling elements in both these countries are far more concerned about an Iran type revolution that will sweep the moderate governing apparatchiks into prisons, than the plight of the palestinians.
Pakistan on the other hand, regardless of the current governments actions to round up the extemists, has a long history of supporting their efforts, both in terms of manpower, logistics and support. Pakistans president has no idea what their intelligence service is up to.

A logical statement or conclusion is based on premises that need to be accepted (not as truth but for the purposes of debate) in order for the equation to have a framework from which it can be considered. My logical argument went thus;
If Israel were located in South America, then there would be less terrorism aimed at Israel and the United States.
You don't have accept the conclusions of this logical argument, that is what debate is based on. If, however, you do not accept the premise as a starting point, than no debate can take place.

Whether you like it or not, Israel is not and never will be located in South America. Maybe. But considering and debating "what if" alternatives can develop greater understanding of the reality.

So based on our discussion up until now and the current situation in the middle east, what difference would exist if Israel were located in South America?

I haven't read 1 bit of this thread yet.
But I wanted to say this.
There are posting guidelines or 'rules' for this website. If EACH PERSON made it their business to DO THEIR BEST to follow these, there would be no need for ADMIN MODERATORS.
Instead, we have people whose behavior is at best, childish, therefore has to be 'supervised' by an adult.

If I wrote, "For the loss of a sense of dignity in the Oval Office, I thank Mr. Clinton," would you honestly take that as an endorsement of the Phormer Philanderer in Chief?

What the heck would they want hits for when they don't sell advertising? Methinks you need to get a clue.
I like the way you think. That was a bit of a stretch wasn't it.

I have seen at least one other person ask you this, and now I will.
Ya right. The focus of their obsession is Israel. We are in the crosshairs because the US is virtually their only international ally. If Israel were in South America, the twin towers would still be standing. 2 posted on 3/31/02 1:59 PM Eastern by Bob J
What, precisely, is so objectionable to you or to anyone regarding that statement? If one agrees with it or not is not the question from where I sit. Your reaction to it implies that you see something virulent in that comment, yet I simply don't see it.
What is your gripe with it?

Hi quimby, is this the Sabertooth quote you were referring to?
I thank Senator Byrd--on this issue. GWB Team is wrong on this one.

I do not speculate on subjects of which I have no expertise or adequate knowledge of. I do not know enough about the demographics of South America to be able to answer your question fairly.

I had written:If I wrote, "For the loss of a sense of dignity in the Oval Office, I thank Mr. Clinton," would you honestly take that as an endorsement of the Phormer Philanderer in Chief? To which you responded:
No. But thats a far cry from this:
Find even one complimentary thing I've said about Robert Byrd, in any context, for any reason, ever.
But the quote you attribute to her, "I thank Mr. Byrd" could have been lifted out of a similar paragraph for all a reader of this thread would know since you have been unwilling to provide a link to the imfamous thread. (If that has been changed since my last reading, I sincerely apologize.) If it is so glaring a embracement of Mr. Byrd, give us the context. Otherwise, I have nothing to assume but that you have wrested the quote out of its context in such a way as you could a positive quote about Clinton from my quote.

Then place Israel on any continent you choose, how about North America? The purpose is to analyze how much the proximity and land issues affect the situation. C'mon FIJC, this isn't a power summit, we're just theorizing and playing "what if".

Yeah, I am. FR is only a web-site bulletin board. What makes the place work is not the management but the folks that post upon it.
We have lost a lot of posters; posters that are high caliber in terms of quality opinions. It's no big-deal, I guess. There are lots of web-sites and other methods of bulletin boards. I do know, however that Jim put his heart and soul into FR as a method to create the best website under the Sun.
I am hoping Jim recoginizes his accomplishments while moderating his own methods. Otherwise, he will lose it.
