Fernwood Tonight and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman were very clever and on a par with Monty Python, but too subtle for those who like the laugh track and obvious humor of today.

"Fernwood" was a take-off of Norwood, Ohio, a blue collar town on the outskirts of Cincinnati. Residents of Norwood usually hated these shows but didn't know why. The reason was the humor cut too close to home.

"Fernwood"

Head 'em up, move 'em out, Rathide! (The looney sociologist who planned to stop the ghetto's rat problem by herding and marketing rodents.)

Funny show -- in the good old days before PC.

My faves are the older classics of course...

1. Andy Griffin

2. Little House on the Prairie.

3. Captain Kangeroo (ok, I was raised on it)

4. Samson and Son

5. Adam's Family

6. Funniest videos (hate ABC though)
