What Are The Funniest TV Programs Of All Time?
Me, Myself & I | Today, March 30, 2002 | Hellmouth

What are some of your favorite comedy shows of all time?

For myself, I like Howard Stern's old Channel 9 show, Fawlty Towers, Police Squad, The Young Ones, et al. I'm sure other people have different ideals as to what they consider humorous....

SCTV.

I gotta say, Jiminy Glick is pretty damn funny. I was laughing out loud at an interview with Jim Belushi.

Plenty of good ones here. I'll add;

Newhart.
Bizzarre. I always thought John Byner was a Canadian. He isn't.

Sledge Hammer!

Definately an under-appreciated gem.

I'll bump most of all the above shows so far, and will add "Moonlighting," a show with Bruce Willis, a very different and very funny Bruce Willis compared to his movies.

I got three good ones:

Tim Conway(can't remember the show, maybe it was Carol Bernet)
Benny Hill
Seinfeld

Tim Conway and Benny Hill used to make me laugh so hard I'd be on the floor crying. So did Rich Little.....what show did he use to be on? Is he still alive, still performing? I never really cared for the lucy show or the honeymooners. I guess I had an odd sense of humor.

I'm with you on 'Are you being served?'. That show was very well written and very, very well acted.

I also like 'Keeping Up Appearances'...

'the Bouquet (spelled BUCKET) residence; lady of the house speaking..'

Monty Python? Uneven, but skits were hysterical. Remember the one where they were dreeded in drag, waiting for the ferry to France to see Jean Paul Sartre?
When a late arrival was asked why "she" was late, the reply was "I had to bury the cat."
"Why did that take so long?"
"Cat wasn't dead yet."

Don't remember the name of the second series, but it was about an exfootball player who retired and in the episode is a bar owner. He was a kicker for a professional football team and was known as "Joe the Toe." He was straight, but his brother wasn't. Can anybody remember the name of this series?]

The Brothers on HBO.
