Oh, bless you, Glocksey! (May I call you Glocksey?!) (*VBEG*) I adore the Moody Blues! In junior high and high school, other kids were into disco (gag me with a spoon! *G*) and even Styx and Queen, etc., but I was a major Moody Blues fan, and still am! (Along with Rush [Lee, not Limbaugh!], Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons Project -- music with meat and meaning, you know?!)

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy is spent.

Impassioned lovers wrestle as one;
Lonely man cries for love and has none;
New mother picks up and suckles her son;
Senior citizens wish they were young.

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight,
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion.

-- Graeme Edge (of course!)

And it's always Tuesday Afternoon for me, IF you can dig my snow drift?! I listened to only the Moodies the first time I drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, from East Tennessee into Asheville. The scenery was breathtaking, and the music just -- well -- fit! With all the orchestral background from the London Symphony Orchestra, and the depth of meaning in the lyrics and prose/poetry . . . I can't think of anything more perfect. Prime leaf-turning season in early mid-October. Gorgeous! We had to stop the car and get out to look in every direction every few miles! Next time, I'm taking Smetana's The Moldau as well. Just for icing on the cake! It's my favorite orchestral piece of all time, by anyone; Smetana was Austrian, The Moldau is a river in Austria, and you can hear and feel the water flowing -- making its journey down the river in the music. I've never truly seen and experienced a major body of water; I've never even been to the ocean at all, except for flying over it en route to London, which doesn't count! Listening to The Moldau is as close as I've come to really experiencing it, though.

I am intrigued by these stories you have to tell me! Are you using psychology on me, Glocksey?! Telling me to ping you when I'm back online, so I'll feel as if there will be no problem whatsoever with the surgery, and there is no doubt at all that I'll be back just as soon as I start feeling well enough to get back on the 'puter?! Sneaky little bugger, arncha?? *G* But I appreciate what you're doing! It helps. Tons!! Thank You! You are a dear! I mean that sincerely!!

Wonderful day for passing my way.
Knock on my door, even the score
With your eyes.

Lovely to see you again my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.
Dark cloud of fear is blowing away
Now that you're here, you're going to stay,
'cause it's

Lovely to see you again my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.
Tell us what you've seen in faraway forgotten lands
Where empires have turned back to sand.

Wonderful day for passing my way.
Knock on my door, even the score
With your eyes.

Lovely to see you again my friend.
Walk along with me to the next bend.
--Hayward(?)

And until I see you again: tomorrow I'll be here; not inside your 'puter, but where the hyperlink leads you! *G*

God bless!!

;-*

i suppose you had to bring up parsons. oh yah... my favorite...

Prime Time
(Eric Woolfson - Lead Vocal)

Well even the longest night won't last forever
But too many hopes and dreams won't see the light
And all of the plans I make won't come together

Something in the air
Maybe for the only time in my life
Something in the air
Turning me around and guiding me right

And it's a prime time, maybe the stars were right
I had a premonition, it's gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight

Well even the brightest star won't shine forever
But all of the hands I play are working out right
And every move I make feels like a winner

Something in the air
Maybe for the only time in my life
Something in the air
Turning me around and guiding me right

And it's a prime time, maybe the stars were right
I had a premonition, it's gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight
Gonna be my turn tonight

------------

now you've done it...i have to be to work at 4:30, and i'm rummaging
through this dusty pile of CD's... eek. i gotta go. best wishes for tomorrow. - gr
