Thanks for your input. Your suggestions sound marvelous, but I'm more into "man-made" history and Italy just calls my name.

It's funny you said that about skipping Paris. I'd actually considered that. Given that we'll only have about 3 days I think we should pick one place in the French countryside and explore it. Where would you go, considering what I've told you?

The best I can think of might be a drive from Paris to Lyon, although I've never made the drive.
You'd get to see the Rhone River Valley, and Lyon is a much nicer city, in my opinion, than Paris.
