this is an unusual time
our seige of car trouble ended on valentines day, when I got brake job
but it resulted in this month bein' bouncing checks
today is first day of Spring
I figure things must be on upswing now
I bought popcorn in post office
(mailed off birthday gifts and easter cards)
sparrows are eatin' left over popcorn I poured in yard
they love popcorn

Woman in neon tube top, "I dunno dear.. looks like he's got a bubblegum machine..."
Cop on corner, "Hmm? Bubblegum machine? Where?" looks left and right. Then, confused, goes back to scratching and looking confused.
