I'd say it's better than the funky live-action/animation hybrid that only did the first half the trilogy
Sort of like arguing the virtues of Wormtongue vs Shelob don't you think? I know, Shelob was a creature of power, whereas Wormtongue was only a corrupt human, but we are talking character here folks.
