RMDupree has sent me a warning freepmail about the dangers of copying copywrited material and totally made me paranoid that big brother is watch me. Of course she is right. It's illegal.

So, if anyone is thinking of reporting poor Smeagol to the Feds! - Don't! I don't even have the DVD in my possession... don't even know if I'm going to get it. Wouldn't even think about copying it for myself much less others. I am a law-abiding soul who doesn't even rip the tags off my mattresses or pillows.

Now, that we have that cleared up, I can go home without freaking out every time a black sedan pulls up behind me.

I think it's only illegal if you're copying with intent to distribute. Making a personal copy (or 100 copies...for yourself, of course) is a nice little grey area.
