This is better than a crock pot. I cooked a five pound chicken for 1.5 hours yesterday and the meat was just falling off the bone. It was done sooner, but I like my chicken really cooked. It was crispy on the outside and golden brown when it finished.
Here is a picture of mine right after I put the chicken in. It was kinda floppy on the spits and it worried me...but then as it cooked, it "cinched up" on the spits really tight.
